Welcome to the

MERIDIAN POLICE EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATION

Supporting first responders and our community.

The Meridian Police Employee Association (MPEA) is a non-profit (501c3) organization that was reestablished in the Spring of 2011 as a strong, professional, and community-oriented organization focused on helping those in need here in Meridian, as well as throughout the Treasure Valley and State of Idaho.

The MPEA is a way for sworn and professional staff members of the Meridian Police Department to get to know the citizens of Meridian on a more personal level, outside of the uniform; and also give back to those who are not as fortunate as us. The MPEA focuses on improving the general welfare of the citizens of Meridian, as well as engaging in fraternal, educational, charitable, economic, social, and other types of activities which further the interests of this organization and its membership both directly and indirectly. In addition, the MPEA focuses on providing assistance - financial, more, or otherwise - to sworn and professional staff here at the Meridian Police Department, as well as other first responders throughout the state and country.

Annual Golf Tournament

Every year, the Meridian Police Employee Association hosts an Annual Golf Tournament at the Lakeview Golf Course in Meridian. This event is a fundraiser of great importance, as proceeds go to the MPEA’s Injured and Fallen Officer Fund and Scholarship program.

Injured & Fallen Officer Fund (IFOF)

The Meridian Police Employee Association established the Injured and Fallen Officer Fund (IFOF) to assist our fellow first responders - who serve and protect our communities - in times of need and in times of loss, should the day come. As of 2022, the MPEA has paid out over $55,000 to first responders and/or their immediate families in times of need.

MPEA Scholarship Program

The Meridian Police Employee Association established the Scholarship Program in 2013 to assist local students who reside, work, or attend school within the City of Meridian. Each year, the MPEA awards $2500 in financial assistance to outstanding community members who are enrolled in an accredited college or vocational education program.

The MPEA is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2023-2024 academic year. Applications are due by June 15th, 2023.

Community Outreach

The Meridian Police Employee Association works diligently to ensure our association remains a strong, professional, and community-oriented organization focusing on the goals on improving the general welfare of the citizen of Meridian. The MPEA works to achieve this goal by engaging in fraternal, educational, charitable, economic, social, and other types of activities. By doing this, the MPEA is able to get to know the citizens of Meridian on a more personal level, outside of the uniform.
